A photograph taken of two clashing Burchells Zebra’s in the Madikwe Reserve. The striped and dazzling pattern of a zebra helps contribute to its theories of helping them blend into contrasting environments and assisting its body temperature regulation. The resultant confusion that arises as they stampede, with their patterns mixing and creating an illusion makes it harder for predators to focus on a single individual, which resulted in the collective noun for these herbivores to be a ‘dazzle’ of zebras.
The use of black and white in this image helps convey the focus on their pattern and textures to keep the viewer enchanted by their allure.

15% of proceeds will be donated to the Madikwe Futures Company (NPC), who use a conservation model based in Madikwe Game Reserve to help uplift its local communities, protect its wildlife and save the rhino’s from poaching through implemented teams, technologies and infrastructures.
